Spun Spaces is a project exploring double weaving as a textile manufacturing technique for innovative furniture- and spatial design. By alternately merging and separating two layers of warp threads directly in the industrial weaving machine, we can create designs with new attributes while reducing material waste and post-processing work such as cutting and sewing. This technique both promotes a more sustainable production as well as reducing the environmental impact, which is crucial for shaping a responsible future in design.
