Play is developmental, especially unstructured play like building a fort. To help children become more independent in their play I have developed a tool for fort-building – a clamp.

The Clamp is designed to make fort-building at home easier and safer, with the goal of encouraging play through both form and function.The inspiration comes from a classic bar clamp as it doesn’t require much force during fastening, making it suitable for younger individuals to use.

The clamp is mainly made from wood, a sustainable material that becomes more beautiful over time. Wood also allows for repainting or other touch-ups making it more sustainable than most other materials.
